Damn the man. Save the Empire.
Flash decision at 2am—my next tattoo will be these words.
Empire Records, 1995 (dir. Allan Moyle)
That’s right, a Canadian! Allan didn’t do much for film lovers, but he did make two of my favorite movies from the 90s: Empire Records and Pump Up The Volume.
Sadness is hunting for a song you know you’ll never find. Really want to find “Can’t Stop Losing Myself” by the Dirt Clods.
The Empire Records soundtrack is good, but the song in the movie otherwise are still kind of beyond amazing.

Empire Records - yet another of my all-time favorite movies - just came on TV. Even though I own the DVD, I’m obliged to watch.
High Roller: That’s an 18,000 dollar bet, you sure you know what you’re doin kid?
Lucas: I know this, that if I win this roll I will save the place that I work from being sold, and the jobs of my friends that work there. Thus striking a blow at all that is evil and making this world a better place to be in.
Lady at Craps Table: Huh?
Lucas: …And I’ll buy you guys a drink.
One of my all-time favorite movies (I’m not even kidding): Empire Records! (Courtesy of brimichelle.)
